Iran reveals volume of foreign investments in Aras Free Zone

The volume of foreign investment in Iran's Aras Free Zone in the last Iranian year (started March 21, 2018) stood at around $79 million, Deputy Director of Aras Free Zone Safar Shafand told Trend.

He noted that the volume of domestic investment in those sector in Aras Free Zone was $540 million. of which $297 million was allocated to industrial projects, $118 million to the tourism sector, $108 million to agriculture and $17 million to service sector.

“Investors are more interested in the industry and tourism sector. For example, in the field of tourism, we are trying to attract tourists by building recreational complexes and various hotels,” he added.

From a total of $79 million in foreign investment, 100 percent of the funds went to the industrial sector, he said.

“Investors from China, South Korea, Turkey and Azerbaijan are interested in investing in pharmaceutical, clothing, refineries and even seed oil production in Iran.”

Shafand went on to add that the greenhouse cultivation is the core competency of Aras.
