The Uzbekistan and Korea’s joint venture for the production of X-ray equipment is working on implementation of the second phase of the project, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the joint venture Listem-Fergana in the city of Fergana.

This is the only manufacturer of such high-tech medical equipment not only in Uzbekistan, but also in the entire Central Asian region.

The project cost of the enterprise is $8 million; it is capable of producing 300 pieces of X-ray machines of two kinds per year. During the first phase of the project, 35 people were provided with jobs. By the end of the year, about 100 more jobs will be created.

As a result of the implementation of the second phase of the project, it is planned to bring the annual production to 500 pieces, to expand the range to more than 10 types.

All this will provide the domestic market with affordable and high-quality medical equipment, which today is imported in Uzbekistan. After the enterprise reaches its full capacity, it is planned to set up an export route.

Currently, Listem-Fergana products are in great demand. The first model of the enterprise - the digital radiograph “Smart DR” - costs $50,000, which is three times cheaper than foreign analogues.

For example, a similar technique from the Philips company costs $144,000, the one from Siemens - $168,000.

With the use of “Smart DR” it is possible to serve 15 patients per hour. Pictures are stored in the memory of the device up to 5 years, which is important for monitoring the dynamics of the disease.

Pictures can be sent online to other doctors for collective diagnosis at a distance.
