Azerbaijan significantly reduces import of tobacco products from Georgia

In January-April 2019, Azerbaijan imported almost 735,6 tons of tobacco products worth more than $15 million from Georgia, while in the same period of 2018 imports amounted to 1,204,3 tons worth more than $22 million. This is stated in the report of National Statistics Office of Georgia, Trend reports.

In the first four months of 2019, Georgia exported tobacco products worth $25,43 million, of which Azerbaijan accounted for 59,4 percent.

In January-February 2019, Azerbaijan increased imports of goods from Georgia by five percent compared to the same period last year from $120,36 million to over $126,33 million.

The main articles of Georgian exports to Azerbaijan are cars, medicines, nitrogen fertilizers and tobacco products.
