Uzbekistan exports $115M worth of building materials

For the first nine months of this year, building materials worth a total of $115 million were exported, Trend reports citing Uzbek media.

The share of enterprises included in Uzbekistan’s Uzpromstroymaterials Association of building materials producers amounted to $50.2 million with an increase of 25.4 percent compared to the same period last year.

There are about 10,000 manufacturers of building materials operating in Uzbekistan

If previously, 120 types of building materials were produced around the country, then to date, their number has increased to 180 types.

Currently, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkmenistan is increasing its demand for such building materials, as ceramic tiles, sanitary ceramics, wallpaper, linoleum, dry building mixes, burnt bricks, facing stones, lime, polypropylene pipes, fittings that are produced by Uzbekistan’s enterprises.

Recently, Azerbaijan, Tajikistan and Afghanistan joined these countries as well.

The exported products included ceramic tiles, sanitary ware, wallpaper, dry mixes, burnt bricks, natural stone cladding, lime, polypropylene pipes, fittings, etc.

In January-September of the current year, the enterprises of the Uzpromstroymaterials Association produced construction materials worth $370 million (growth rates compared to the same period last year amounted to 106.9 percent).

The growth rate in cement production amounted to 108.2 percent, ceramic tile - 150 percent, drywall - 137.1 percent, wallpaper - 6.1 times.

Moreover, this year the country launched the production of aerated concrete blocks (with an annual capacity of 350,000 cubic meters), wallpaper (with an annual capacity of 1.3 million rolls), porcelain stoneware, patterned glass, basalt rebar, liquid floor, foam blocks, glass crystallite, composite building materials and particle boards (with an annual capacity of 195,000 cubic meters), which previously were not produced in Uzbekistan.
