ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, Oct. 26

By Huseyn Hasanov– Trend:

A workshop for the production of 170 tons of fiberglass per year has been commissioned at the Ashgabat reinforced concrete plant, Trend reports citing the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

The article says that the KompositEnergo company plans to expand production to 500 tons per year.

For this purpose, special equipment and ovens are being purchased.

In the future, in the context of the implementation of the state import substitution program, it is planned to bring production to the level of 2,500 tons per year of fiberglass reinforcement of any diameter and length.

Thus, for the first time in Turkmenistan, given the production of concrete supports for power lines, steel reinforcement will be replaced by composite one.

At the facility located in the Buzmein district in Turkmenistan, a workshop was launched in which glass fiber reinforcement, surpassing metal one in many respects, is manufactured from local raw materials - glass wastes - thanks to innovative technologies.

Samples of composite reinforcement have been successfully tested at the Research Institute for Earthquake Engineering in Ashgabat.

Manufacturers say that continuous fiberglass reinforcement is distinguished by low cost, low weight, high strength, chemical and anti-corrosion resistance, low thermal conductivity, dielectric properties and the possibility of long-term operation, which determines its advantages over metal analogues.
