Flight tickets sales from abroad to Uzbekistan increase

Citizens of Russia, Kazakhstan and South Korea have booked the most air tickets to Uzbekistan in 2019, Trend reports citing Uzbekistan's Aviasales.uz main air ticket sales website.

In general, the demand for airline tickets from abroad to Uzbekistan increased by a third year-on-year with a decrease in the average bill by 5 percent to $210.

Russians hold the leading position in booking tickets to Uzbekistan. On average, such a trip costs $199 in both directions, which is 8 percent cheaper compared to 2018. The most popular routes from Russia were flights to Tashkent and Samarkand.

Kazakhstan is in the second place. Despite the proximity of states, a flight to Uzbekistan costs an average of $157. The average ticket price went up by 13 percent compared to the previous year.

South Korea travel to Uzbekistan less than Kazakhstan but for more expensive prices - a flight from Seoul to Uzbekistan would cost an average of $473, which is 5 percent less than last year.

Further in the ranking are Turkey and Belarus. Passengers from these countries need to pay $309 for a round-trip flight.

Azerbaijan and Ukraine share the sixth place, where flight ticket to Tashkent costs from $231 to $304.

Following are airline reservations from the US and the UAE. Tickets from the US to Uzbekistan cost on average $735, and from the UAE - $378.

During 2020-2022, Uzbekistan will gradually establish flights with cities of foreign countries that are promising for attracting national and foreign airlines.

The list of such cities includes Kiev, Vienna, Cairo, Budapest, Doha, Athens, Brussels, Barcelona, ​​Madrid, Amsterdam, Sofia, Warsaw, Bucharest, Prague, Geneva, Zurich, Munich, Izmir, Ankara, Mexico City, Ottawa, Toronto, Sydney, Fukuoka, Osaka, Nagoya, Hong Kong and 12 cities of China.

Moreover, the number of tourist trips from Russia to Uzbekistan in the first half of 2019 increased by 35 percent with 96,000 tourist trips, compared with the same period in 2018.
