Kazakhstan and Belarus agreed on cooperation in the field of regulation of trade and public catering and protection of the domestic consumer market, Trend reports with reference to the press office of Kazakhstan’s prime minister.
The corresponding memorandum was signed within the framework of the visit of Kazakhstan’s delegation headed by Kazakhstan’s Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev to Belarus with a trade and economic mission.
Within the framework of the mission, Torebayev met with Deputy Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade of Belarus Ivan Vezhnovets.
During the meeting, parties discussed the experience of countries in regulating prices for socially significant food products and measures to combat unfair competition in the consumer market.
Torebayev said that within the framework of the fight against intermediaries, Kazakhstan is working to create a modern distribution system including a network of wholesale distribution and agro-logistics centers.
The Belarusian side expressed interest in Kazakhstan’s experience in maintaining market prices with the help of stabilization funds. The Kazakh side was also asked to share information on the experience with trading networks with retro bonuses.
Experience in protecting consumer rights in the context of the digital transformation of the economy, as well as the exchange trade in food products were also discussed.
The parties came to the agreement to deepen cooperation and information exchange between the ministries in terms of regulating trade activities, protecting consumer interests and ensuring healthy competition.
