Turkmenistan, CAREC intend to conduct joint research in field of e-commerce

Turkmenistan and Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation Program (CAREC) have discussed the possibility of conducting joint research in the field of e-сommerce, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

The Ministry of Finance and Economy of Turkmenistan hosted a webinar, which was organized jointly with the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI), CAREC and China's Shanghai National Accounting Institute.

Issues of developing the regulatory framework for e-сommerce in the CAREC region were the main topic of the event.

During the webinar, Turkmenistan has presented main directions of state policy in the financial and economic sphere that is aimed, among other goals, at improving the national legal framework, bringing it in compliance with international standards and introducing modern management methods.

The webinar participants also got acquainted with world-wide usage of computer networks including financial and trade transactions, the report said.

Turkmenistan joined CAREC in 2010. The country shares the program’s vision of an integrated and globally connected region. Turkmenistan participates in the CAREC designing regional projects in transport, trade, and energy security.
