Iran discloses details of cement exports

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 20

Iran exported 5.84 million tons of cement worth $128 million during the first five months of the current Iranian year (March 20-August 21, 2020), Spokesman for the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) Rouhollah Latifi said, Trend reports citing IRICA.

The spokesman stressed that Iranian cement was exported to India, Afghanistan, Russia, Iraq, Qatar, Kenya, Kuwait, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, China, Oman and other countries.

Latifi added that Iraq ($24.7 million), Kuwait ($23.3 million) and Afghanistan ($19.5 million) are in the top three in terms of cement imports from Iran.

"Iran can produce 85 million tons of cement a year and the country's domestic demand is 65 million tons," he said.

Iran exported 38 million tons of non-oil products worth $10.9 billion over five months.
