Iran preparing document on transformation of agriculture sector
TEHRAN, Iran, Sept.30
Iran is expected to dradt a new document on transformation of its agriculture sector, to create more capabilities for production, said the country's Agriculture Minister Kazem Khavzari, Trend reports via IRNA.
"The ministry would draft transformation document for agriculture sector by cooperation of the Supreme Council of the Cultural Revolution," said Khavzari.
"It is important to support investments into the agriculture sector through by cooperation with the National Development Fund," he said.
"The ministry aims to increase the participation of youth in agriculture sector's development," he said.
Elsewhere, he said that Iran's Wheat Farmers Foundation could provide substitutions for oat, corn and oil seeds that Iran has to import, and cooperate on this matter with research institutes, to decrease Iran's dependency on imports, food wise.
"It is important to reduce the price of fertilizers that are required in the agriculture sector. The Agriculture Support Services Company could cooperate with the Wheat Farmers Foundation to distribute the fertilizers," he said.
