Azerbaijan boosts import of Czech products

The volume of foreign trade operations between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic amounted to $229 million from January through September 2020, which is $237.6 million less compared to the same period of 2019, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

According to the committee, imports of Czech products to Azerbaijan increased from $34.9 million to $37 million on an annualized basis. The share of the Czech Republic in the total imports of Azerbaijan amounted to 0.47 percent, while a year earlier this figure was 0.34 percent.

"At the same time, exports from Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic over the past nine months of this year amounted to $192 million, while a year earlier this figure was $431.7 million. Thus, the share of the Czech Republic in the total export of Azerbaijan decreased from 2.9 to 1.82 percent," said the SCC's bulletin.

The balance of foreign trade turnover between Azerbaijan and the Czech Republic for the reporting period, remaining positive, amounted to $155.03 million, the report noted.

Azerbaijan's total foreign trade turnover in 9M2020 amounted to $18.4 billion, which is 27.1 percent less compared to the same period of 2019.

The balance of foreign trade turnover decreased by 38.6 percent over the year, but remained positive, amounting to $2.75 billion.
