Azerbaijan's export of beverages nearly halves

Azerbaijan’s exports of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages totaled over $12 million in 2020, which shows a decline in almost half compared to 2019, Trend reports citing the statistical bulletin of the State Customs Committee (SCC) of Azerbaijan.

The share of these products in total exports of Azerbaijan dropped to 0.09 percent, while in 2019 this figure was 0.12 percent.

“In import operations for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, a decrease of $6.4 million (9.5 percent) was also observed over the year. So, their volume amounted to $61 million. The share of this product in the total import of Azerbaijan amounted to 0.57 percent, having increased by 0.08 percentage points over the year,” said the report.

As of late 2020, the volume of foreign trade turnover of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages amounted to $73.1 million, which is 19.8 percent or $18.05 million less than in 2019.

In general, by the end of 2020, Azerbaijan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $24.4 billion. Of these, more than $13.7 billion, or 56.15 percent, accounted for exports, and the remaining $10.7 billion or 43.85 percent - for imports.
