Turkmenistan’s Agriculture Ministry exceeds production plan in 2020

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 4

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan exceeded the production plan in 2020, Trend reports with reference to Turkmenistan’s State News Agency.

The production plan of ministry was exceeded by 13.7 percent, including the production of cotton fiber by 3.2 percent, bread and bakery products – by 51.4 percent, meat products – by 2.2 percent, milk and dairy products – by 2.1 percent.

At the same time, the plan for the production of vegetable oil, sugar and flour is 100 percent fulfilled.

The data was given by Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection of Turkmenistan Magtymguly Bayramdurdiyev at a working meeting on the development of agriculture held by President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

The minister noted that together with the municipal administrations of the country's regions, private producers and specialists of industry research institutions, appropriate work is being carried out to use and lease pastures, as well as to increase the number of purebred cattle and increase their productivity.

The president stressed that the state will continue to support the industry in order to increase the volume of agricultural production and fully meet the population's demand for food products, the leader of the nation continued and addressed the minister with relevant instructions.

The state provides targeted support for the development of the agricultural sector in the country. In particular, the entire production infrastructure of the agro-industrial sector is being re-equipped and modernized, the chemical industry is developing, and modern tractors, combines, and other equipment are being purchased.
