By Nargiz Sadikhova - Trend:

Aluminum Kazakhstan JSC of Eurasian Resources Group is shutting off its Torgai Bosite Mining Administration, Trend reports citing the Eurasian Resources Group (ERG).

The ERG said that the decision was made due to the fact that over 65 years of operations at the Torgai Bosite Mining Administration, its natural resources were completely dug up.

Thus, over more than 60 years of operation at the Torgai Bosite Mining Administration, more than 1.5 billion cubic meters of rock mass has been extracted, over 80 million tons of bauxite, and 20 million tons of refractory clay have been mined.

Eurasian Resources Group (ERG) is a leading diversified natural resources group with integrated mining, processing, energy, logistics, and marketing operations.

The Group operates in 15 countries and is a major employer in the industry. In 2019, Eurasian Resources Group celebrates its five-year anniversary and the Group also marks 25 years of its business in Kazakhstan.

ERG is the world’s largest high-carbon ferrochrome producer by chrome content and one of the largest producers of alumina and iron ore products in Eurasia. It is the only producer of high-grade aluminum in Kazakstan. The Group is also among the principal copper and cobalt producers.
