The production volume of iron ores in Kazakhstan has amounted to 9.8 million tons from January through February 2021, which is 31.3 percent more than during the same period of 2020, Trend reports with reference to Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
According to the data, iron ores production amounted to 4.5 million tons in Feb. 2021, which is 24.4 percent more than in Feb. 2020.
Production of copper ores increased by 10.7 percent during the reporting months having amounted to 20.8 million tons (10.9 million tons in Feb. 2021, an increase by 32.8 percent compared to the same month in 2020).
Production of zinc and copper ores amounted to 1.1 million tons during the reporting period, which indicates a decrease of 18.5 percent compared to the same period of last year.
The production volume of zinc and copper ores was 494,200 tons in Feb. 2021, which is 22.4 percent less in Feb. 2020.
Production of gold ores amounted to 4.4 million tons over the reporting period, which is 15.5 percent more than during the same period of 2020. The volume of gold ores produced in Feb. 2021 was 2.4 million tons, which is 39.4 percent more than in Feb. 2020.
Production of lead and zinc ores amounted to 1.3 million tons, which is 28 percent more than during the same period of 2020 (782,100 tons in Feb. 2021, up by 42.6 percent compared to Feb. 2020).
As reported, the production of manganese ores amounted to 153,600 tons, which is 46.3 percent less than during the same period of 2020 (83,800 tons in Feb. 2021, an increase of 67.9 percent compared to Feb. 2020).
Production of chrome ores amounted to 864,100 tons, which is 20 percent less than during the same period of 2020 (413,000 tons in Feb. 2021, a decrease of 25.6 percent compared to Feb. 2020).
