Iran sees increase in extraction from Anguran mine in Zanjan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, Aug. 11

The extraction from the Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex in the Zanjan Province (north-western Iran) increased by about 7 percent during the first four months of the current Iranian year (from June 22 through July 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).

According to the report, 355,126 tons of minerals were extracted from the Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex in the 4 months. While in the same period last Iranian year, this figure amounted to 331,896 tons.

“About 271,965 tons of minerals were sent to local companies from the Anguran Zinc and Lead Mining Complex over the four months. This is a 27-percent decrease compared to the same period last Iranian year (371,000 tons),” the report said.

In addition, 11,200 tons of iron ore and 4,920 tons of travertine were extracted from the mines operating under this mining complex. Sales of these minerals amounted to 78,400 tons and 1,570 tons, respectively.
