BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 27. Iran exported raw steel and related products to 59 countries, including China, Iraq, Indonesia, Thailand and the UAE, over the last Iranian year (March 21, 2021 through March 20, 2022), Trend reports citing Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO).
According to the report, more than 76 percent of Iran's total steel products exports for last Iranian year were accounted for five countries.
In general, Iran exported about 11.7 million tons of raw steel and related products worth $7.4 billion in the last Iranian year.
Over last Iranian year, Iran exported 3.54 million tons of steel products worth $2.02 billion to China, which accounted for 27.3 percent of Iran's total steel exports.
Iran also exported 1.9 million tons of steel products worth $1.26 billion to Iraq within the mentioned period, which accounted for 17 percent of Iran's total steel exports.
At the same time, Iran exported 1.69 million tons of steel products worth $1.09 billion to Indonesia during the last Iranian year. Indonesia's share in Iran's total steel exports for last year was 14.8 percent.
Moreover, Iran exported 1.16 million tons of steel products to Thailand in last Iranian year, which accounted for 10.1 percent of Iran's total steel exports.
As well as, more than 724,000 tons of steel products were exported to the UAE for the reporting period. The share of the UAE in Iran's total steel exports amounted to 7.3 percent.
