“The Law on alternative military service may be put in discussion at the current session of the Milli Majlis [Parliament],” Ziyafat Asgarov, the first Vice-Speaker of the Milli Majlis, also chairman of the Permanent Commission on Safety and Defense, told Trend.
He noted that there was no any problem in adoption of the law, but they were due to hold joint discussions with some state bodies. “We received the opinions of the State Committee on Religious Bodies, the Caucasus Moslem Board and Defense Ministry. We want to meet with the representatives of these bodies and come to a concrete agreement. Then we will put the bill in the next reading of the Milli Majlis,” Asgarov stressed.
