Azerbaijan, Baku / corr. Trend I.Khalilova / The Executive Director of the Association of Banks of Azerbaijan (ABA), Farhad Aliyev, announced that a meeting of the ABA executive committee held on 16 April made a decision to continue discussions on 20 April.
By the next meeting the banks intend to present their comments on the draft Charter of the Association to pass it for further approval. Members of the presidium voiced their notes on the document and they were mostly of a technical nature. Some principle changes are to be made within the charter.
The forthcoming meeting of the ABA presidium is to end discussions and adopt a budget, staff, major directions and the institutional development of the ABA.
The staff of the association will be expanded in connection with plans to attract new specialists to the banking sector.
Even the key directions of the activities and institutional development of the ABA have been devised within the action program for 2007-2011. Should the executive committee confirm them, certain changes will be made to the structure of the association. The pack of proposals will be in three directions - reformation, education (raising quality and qualification of banking employees) and security in the banks.
