Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend / The number of the employees of transport enterprises engaged in journey-work has increased by 1298 people and made up 66813 people in the first quarter of 2007, compared to the same period of 2006, a source at the State Statistics Committee of Azerbaijan said on 10 May.
Some 84.7% of the employees are engaged in state enterprises, 15.3% in private sector. Some 64.1% work in road transport, 13.7% in sea, 4.6% in air, and 17.6 % in subsidiary enterprises.
The average salary of an employee has increased by 29.1% and comprised AZN 194.1, compared to the first quarter of 2006.
The salary in air transport is AZN 461.7, sea transport AZN 324.1, and railway transport AZN 112.5.
