Azerbaijan Investment Company Holds Analysis of Assessment Report on Construction of a Garbage Reproducing Plant in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan, Baku /corr. Trend Trend I.Khalilova / Azerbaijan Investment Company JSC (AIC) held analysis of the report on assessment of proposals by three companies, which are willing to participate in the project on construction of a garbage reproducing plant in Azerbaijan, AIC Executive Director, Anar Akhundov, said. The analysis was held with regards to the profitability of the project.

The proposals were assessed due to demand by the Ministry of Economic Development of Azerbaijan and the Finnish company Poyri. The proposals were made by the Japanese company EBARA, the Australian company EVN and the French company CNIM. The report includes the advantages and shortages of these proposals.

Some companies propose to burn garbage, while others to construct the garbage reproducing plant further to obtain the paper from returns in future. The budget of the project will depend on the proposals and technology to be involved in the construction. In the initial stage it is planned to construct one garbage reproducing plant in Baku.

The construction work will begin at the end of 2007. As of official statistics, around 775,000 tons of garbage is collected in Baku and outskirts a year.
