Presidents of Ukraine and Azerbaijan Discussed Bilateral Cooperation in Davos

Ukraine, Kiev / corr. Trend Z. Novosvitski/ Victor Yushenko, the President of Ukraine met with Ilham Aliyev, the President of Azerbaijan in Davos during the World Economic Forum. The two sides discussed Ukraine-Azerbaijan bilateral cooperation, the press service of Ukrainian President said.

The Presidents discussed the cooperation in energy security and the possibilities of Azerbaijan's and Ukraine's participation in the Odess-Brodi-Lpotsk-Gnadsk oil pipeline. The establishment of the joint energy transit space were also discussed which can include Azerbaijan, Georgia, Litva, Poland, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia, Slovakia, Romania and Bulgaria.

During the meeting the Azerbaijani President confirmed his participation in the Energy Summit which is to be held in May of 2008 in Kiev.

Yushenko and Aliyev also raised the question of deepening the political dialogue between Ukraine and Azerbaijan.
