U.S Allocates $100mln to Georgia

Georgia, Tbilisi, 14 October / Trend corr. N.Kirtskhalia / The United States has allocated $100mln to Georgia within the 'Challenges of millennium' program. The funds will be sent to construct the gas reserve and rehabilitate roads.

The information about the U.S. will allocate funds to Georgia was known after the meetings of the Georgian Prime Minister, Vladimir Gurgenidze, in Washington.

This will be the second tranche within the 'Challenges of millennium' program for Georgia. The first tranche in the sum of $300mln was spent to rehabilitate the gas highway and other energy projects.

Gurgenidze held meetings with the head of the World Bank, International Monitory Fund and the U.S. Ministry of Finance.
