A French Economic Ministry delegation is reviewing the participation of French companies in investment projects in Turkmenistan. The delegation is headed by Cyril Forge.
The French delegation held meetings with the oil-and-gas, mineral resources, economics and commerce ministries and the Turkmen Central Bank.
"The French delegation showed a huge interest in establishing mutually beneficial business contacts with Turkmenistan," the Turkmen source said.
In 2008, Turkmenistan began implementing a market economy. The country is interested in attracting foreign capital to the fuel and energy complex, transport, communication and tourism sectors.
A tender was announced to develop 32 licensed blocks in the Turkmen section of the Caspian Sea, which are rich in hydrocarbon resources. The French Total showed an interest in the tender.
