Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdumuhamedov called "creation of multi version transportation system of Turkmen energy carriers on the world markets" as top-priority task, the official Turkmen source said.
This topic was especially discussed amid the global economic crisis and was touched upon the last meeting of the government where Vice-Premier Tachberdi Tagiyev addressed with summary report. He manages the fuel-energy complex of the country bringing the main income to Turkmen state treasury and allowing softening consequences of the world crisis.
Presently, Turkmenistan supplies Russia and Iran with gas. Turkmenistan goes on joint operations on rising of capacity with these countries. Ashgabat's officials actively create alternative routes by getting significant results of the international audit with confirmation of huge reserves. It is planned to launch fuel supplies on China's power-consuming market by late 2009 due to constriction of gas mainline via Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Negotiations on supplies to Europe, Pakistan and India are being held. These countries' demand for energy carriers are increasing each year.
Tagiyev told about measures to develop recently discovered fields rapidly. These fields are envisaged to strengthen raw materials base of the enterprises and transnational gas mainlines. Turkmenistan combines these efforts with foreign companies. First, Turkmenistan cooperates with Russian company Stroytransgas which began constriction of the pipeline from Turkmen fields to Turkmenistan-China gas pipeline and MRK-Engineering dealing with network construction connecting raw materials bases with Trans Asia main line Middle Asia - Center.
Turkmen President told about necessity to diversify the international cooperation "invariably based on equality principles and mutual profit."
Berdumuhamedov called upon providing accurate organization of the international conference Reliable and Stabile Transit of Energy carriers and Their Role in Ensuring Sustainable Development and International Cooperation to be held in Ashgabat in April.
Hundreds of foreign companies made bids to participate in the conference. Presidents of some countries interested in cooperation with Turkmen fuel-energy complex are expected to take part in the conference.
