Azerbaijan, Baku, Mar. 4 / Trend , E. Ismayilov/ The Heydar Aliyev Deep Water Jacket Plant of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) launched construction of one of two blocs of Gunashli offshore field's gas-lifting platform developed by SOCAR independently, the company source said on March 4.
Gas-lifting method of oil production offers to pump gas to layer to increase its pressure which intensifies oil production.
"The installation of bloc's separate parts is underway. The construction work is planned to complete within six-eight months," a source said.
The SOCAR Neftgazstroy trust has completed the construction of platform's one bloc. This bloc is expected to be repaired.
The platform's height will be 92 meters. It will focus on gas-lift system of oil and gas production unit 28 May.
This platform is one of major platforms. It's planned to be commissioned in 2009 as a part of the SOCAR gas program.
Guneshli is the major oil and gas field developed by SOCAR independently. It accounts for about 60 percent of oil and 70 percent of gas produced by SOCAR.
