Azerbaijan, Baku, May 1/ Trend , E.Ismayilov/
On May 1, the Baqhlan Group FZCO company (UAE) will present to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) a project on "Cleaning the oil-polluted areas in the Buzovna (suburban village of Baku) and the recovery of oil", as well as it will submit the conclusion and a package of proposals as part of the project, a source at SOCAR close to work said on May 1.
The source did not divulge the details of this project.
Earlier, Project Coordinator John Goch said during a meeting with the SOCAR representatives, an area of 38.6 hectares has been allotted in the territory of the Z.Tagiyev Oil and Gas Producing Unit as part of the project and a topographic map of the area has already been developed, the ecology department said.
The level of pollution in some areas reaches depths of up to 8.7 meters. This area was chosen, as there are enough tanks, pipelines and pumps in its territory. It is forecast that this project will bring profit to both parties.
"This project is successful in economic terms, but from an environmental point of view, the developed area will be completely cleared, and subsequently can be used for agricultural purposes," Goch said.
