Azerbaijan gets over 25 million of cubic meters of gas daily

Presently, Azerbaijan gets 26-27 million cubic meters of gas per day, source in oil and gas branch said on June 12. Roughly 12 million cubic meters of gas of total volume of gas obtained by Azerbaijan falls on casing-head gas at bloc of oil and gas fields Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli. The rest 15-16 million fall on gas extracted by SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) developed these fields independently.

The sides to the production sharing agreement on the Azeri-Chirag-Gunashli fields are BP (operator- 34.1367 percent), ChevronTexaco (10.2814 percent), SOCAR (10 percent), INPEX (10 percent), Statoil Hydro (8.5633 percent), ExxonMobil (8.006 percent), TPAO (6.75 percent), Devon (5.6262 percent), Itochu (3.9205 percent) and Delta Hess (2.7213 percent).

Roughly 10 million cubic meters of total volume of gas obtained by Azerbaijan are delivered to Azerenergy JSC (the biggest electric energy producer in Azerbaijan) daily as fuel for electric stations. Roughly 7-7.5 million cubic meters are pumped to underground gas-holders daily. The rest part is delivered to gas distributing system of Azergaz CJSC, source said.  

Presently, there are two underground gas-holders in Azerbaijan. Active capacity of Karadag gas-holder hits 500 million cubic meters. But active capacity of Kalmaz underground gas-holder hits 1.1 billion cubic meters.
