The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) has put into operation a new well in the offshore field Oily Rocks, SOCAR said yesterday.
The new well was put into operation from the Oily Rocks-1887 Platform, the company said. Some 43 tons of oil will be extracted from well daily at depths of 2,375-2,362 meters.
The residual recoverable oil and gas reserves at Oily Rocks exceed 182 million tons. The geological reserves amount to 365 million tons. Oily Rocks will be developed until 2035, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said earlier.
