The number of filling stations operating under the brand of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) will be about 20 units by late 2011, SOCAR Head Rovnag Abdullayev said on Monday. Currently, the figure is six in Baku.
He said the company plans to commission seven more stations in March and five more stations by late 2011.
In total, the company plans to open 26-30 filling stations in Azerbaijan. Also, great attention is paid to open the stations at the exits and entries to the country. Investment in construction of petrol stations in Azerbaijan is 20 million manat.

Currently, SOCAR owns more than 50 units of filling stations in Georgia, begins work on the retail sales of petroleum products in Ukraine, and is also working on opening petrol stations in Romania.
