The Georgian Association of Petroleum Product Manufacturers, Importers and Consumers has recognized SOCAR Georgia Petroleum as the largest taxpayer in the country. SOCAR Georgia Petroleum is a subsidiary of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR).
In 2010, SOCAR Georgia Petroleum paid 150 million lari in taxes to the budget.
The company also was recognized the "The Largest Investor," "The Best Petrol Station Infrastructure," and "The Top Company of Charity."
SOCAR's Black Sea Terminal in Kulevi won the "The Best Infrastructure of Terminals for Crude Oil and Petroleum Products."
SOCAR Georgia Petroleum has been the largest taxpayer in Georgia for four years straight.
In 2010, SOCAR invested some 52 million lari in Georgia.
