Kazakhstan works over a new draft law "Main pipeline" and "Energy Charter Kazakhstan-EU: 2020", the press-service of the Kazakh Association of Oil Companies "KAZENERGY" said.
"The bill "Pipelines" is included in the plan of the legislative work of the Kazakh government for the current year. It will be submitted to the Parliament in November," the Association said.
This document will provide a legal basis for the development of existing and implementation of promising projects of pipelines in Kazakhstan.
"We must take an active part in discussing the bill within a working group of the Ministry of Oil and Gas. We must be ready to submit this issue to the Coordinating Council of the Association KAZENERGY for the development of the transport potential of the oil and gas industry in April-May," the executive director of the Association Nurlan Utenov said.
A draft document on "Energy Charter Kazakhstan- EU: 2020" is also important for the oil companies operating in Kazakhstan. Utenov said that today, several members of the Association have logistical difficulties in transporting oil for export to the ports of the Baltic Sea through Eastern Europe.
Klara Rakhmetova, Department Director for Oil Transportation Development,
KazMunaiGaz, said that the geopolitical situation in the world has changed since the Energy Charter Treaty was signed in 1994, the Association said.
Developing and adopting the "Energy Charter Kazakhstan- EU: 2020" will ensure stability of energy supplies to European markets. It will facilitate the development of the pipeline system in the country," Rakhmetova said.
