The State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR) is in search of profitable options to acquire refining capacity abroad, SOCAR Head Rovnag Abdullayev told Trend in Astana.
"Most European refiners are looking for partners after the world financial crisis. We are considering some proposals and seek something favorable for us," Abdullayev said
Abdullayev did not mention specific objects and countries citing the commercial secret.
SOCAR is working on the project of a refinery construction in Turkey and the construction of new processing facilities in Azerbaijan. The complex will include oil and gas refining and petrochemical product production companies.
