There is an opportunity to bring power using the regeneration of the sun's energy to 600 megawatts in Azerbaijan by 2020, the state company for alternative and renewable energy told Trend. This figure could reach 290 megawatts by 2015.
As for the regeneration of wind energy, it is possible to bring the capacity in that sector to 800 megawatts in 2020. The figure could reach 240 megawatts by 2015.
There are also opportunities to build capacity for the production of solar energy up to 350 megawatts in 2020. The figure could reach 50 megawatts by 2015.
In addition, hydropower capacity to 80 megawatts can be created in Azerbaijan by 2015 and 150 megawatts by 2020.
There are opportunities for the development of capacity for the production of alternative energy to a volume of 2500 megawatts by 2020. This figure can reach 830 megawatts by 2015.
The power of biomass energy, geothermal energy and energy from waste processing is also taken into account.
