Alternative energy sources may be renamed to "collateral sources of energy", the deputy chairman of KazEnergy Kazakh Association of oil and gas companies, Dzhambulat Sarsenov said.
"Alternative energy sources may be renamed to "collateral sources of energy". At the very least, such a proposal was made by a number of Arab companies, participating at the World Energy Leaders' Summit, which took place recently in the Indian capital of Delhi," Sarsenov said.
According to him, one of the sections was devoted to a popular topic of development of alternative sources of energy.
"At least, according to many experts, there would be no alternative to oil, gas and coal in the coming decades, and therefore it is more logical to name other sources as collateral," Sarsenov said.
He also added that within the summit in New Delhi, Kazakh delegation discussed with the Swiss company the question of conducting the latest research on energy needs and opportunities of Kazakhstan for the future Energy Report.
The World Energy Leaders' Summit in Delhi was attended by over 3,000 people representing oil companies of the U.S., Norway, Nigeria, Saudi Arabia, India, Turkey, Nepal, Thailand, France, Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Japan, etc.
This Summit is held twice a year by the World Petroleum Council for discussing critical issues of global oil and gas sector.
