The Geophysics and Geology Department of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) completed its two dimensional seismic studies on the Eldaroyugu Boyuk Palanteken onshore section in the Kur-Gabirri interfluvial oil and gas area, SOCAR's Azneft Production Association said.
Studies were carried out to examine the tectonic structure of Mesozoic and Cenozoic sediments.
SOCAR includes the Azneft production association (company producing oil and gas onshore and offshore) and the Azkimya production association (chemical industry) and Azerigaz production association (gas distribution).
In addition, SOCAR includes a number of processing enterprises, service enterprises and institutions engaged in geophysical and drilling operations.
