As of August 1, the number of gas consumers amounted to 1,561,750, of which 1,542,742 belong to the category of the population, while the remaining 19,008 are subscribers from other categories, according to a statement released by SOCAR's production association (PA) Azerigaz on Tuesday.
The number of subscribers among the population in Baku totals 669,648, from other categories - 9,792. The remaining 873,094 meters fall on the category of the population in the regions, and 9,216 - on consumers from other categories.
Some 1,561,635 subscribers (99.99 percent) have been provided with meters, of which 1,542,627 (99.99 percent) belong to the category of the population, and 19,008 (100 percent) represent other categories.
At present, 99.98 percent of the population of Baku or 669,547 people are provided with counters, whereas the rate for other categories is at 100 percent (9,792). Installation of gas meters in the country's regions has been completed.
As of August 1, the number of counters, working on the basis of smart-cards, installed for the population has reached 773,758 units, which is 157,752 units more than in the beginning of the year.
