Currently, four onshore oil and gas blocks in Kazakhstan were put up for tender, Kazakhstan's Oil and Gas Minister Uzakbai Karabalin said speaking at the Kazakhstan-Canadian business forum in the Canadian city of Calgary.
"Currently, four onshore oil and gas blocks in Kazakhstan were put up for tender. Their number will double next year," Karabalin said.
He recalled that currently, around 80 foreign companies operate in the country's oil and gas sector, among which there are not only the largest world-famous companies, but also small and medium ones.
"Not only national, but also foreign companies can participate in the tender for developing of new oil blocks. The main condition that was declared by our president for joining the projects in Kazakhstan's territory is that investors must bring new technologies with them," the Kazakh Minister said.
