A new joint Kazakh-German joint venture called Fakel was founded in Kazakhstan's Almaty region, the regional administration's web site reported.

The new company produces fuel pellets.

"The advanced European technology allows to recycle agricultural waste, low-quality straw and hay into the high-calorie extruded pellets. These pellets successfully replace such types of energy carriers us coal, fuel oil and diesel fuel," the administration said.

Fakel started supplying pellets to private house buildings and social institutions since the day of its creation.

When the 2013-2014 heating season starts, this biofuels will be used at 30 regional automated boiler-houses.

The capacity of the enterprise's workshops reaches over 1.5 tons of pellets per hour. The production is wasteless.
