Political will is required for the speedy implementation of gas transportation projects including those supplying Azerbaijani gas to Europe, vice-speaker of the Azerbaijani Parliament and Chairman of the Committee on Natural Resources, Energy and Environment Valeh Alasgarov said at the International Environmental Conference in Baku today.
According to Alasgarov, the political will allow speedy implemention of the projects surrounding the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline and Trans-Adriatic gas pipeline.
"Conditions will be created for possible gas supplies from Central Asia to Europe in the future after the implementation of infrastructure projects with the participation of Azerbaijan," Alasgarov added.
"If the political will had been demonstrated even earlier, the Azerbaijani gas would be transported to Europe," Alasgarov said. "This would create opportunities for exports of Central Asian gas in this direction."
