Deputy PM: Energy potential of Caspian Sea region important for Turkey

By Rufiz Hafizoglu - Trend: The energy potential of the Caspian Sea region is very important for Turkey, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdag said in his interview with "Hazar World" magazine.

According to the Deputy PM, as a consumer and energy hub, Turkey very much values the region's potential.

Bozdag also stressed that one of the important projects implemented in the country is the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.

According to the Deputy PM, the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project and the TANAP pipeline project are other strategically important projects for Ankara.

Bozdag said that Ankara is interested in regional economic cooperation.

The TANAP project envisages gas transportation from the Shah Deniz field to Europe via Turkey. The initial capacity is expected to reach 16 billion cubic meters per year. Around six billion cubic meters will be delivered to Turkey and the rest to Europe.
