SOCAR announces volume of gas injection into Azerbaijan’s underground storages

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) continues the process of gas injection into the country’s underground gas storage facilities.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) continues the process of gas injection into the country's underground gas storage facilities, said the company's website May 19.

Around 382.44 million cubic meters of gas was injected into the storage facilities as of May 18.

There are two underground gas storage facilities - Kalmaz and Garadagh - in Azerbaijan.

The Garadagh and Kalmaz storages accounted for 248.24 million cubic meters and 134.2 million cubic meters of the gas injected into the gas storage facilities, respectively, said SOCAR's website.

"Currently, the volume of reactive gas in the country's underground gas storage facilities exceeds 1.36 billion cubic meters, of which 730.68 million cubic meters accounts for Garadagh storage, while 632.63 million cubic meters accounts for the Kalmaz storage," said SOCAR.
