Tehran, Iran, August 21

Dispute has erupted between Iranian airlines and the country’s Oil Ministry over the distribution of jet fuel.
Airline companies wrote a letter to Oil Minister Bijan Zanganeh, saying they were not ready to go with a new distribution system, Mehr news agency reported August 21.
Recently the ministry announced plan to start delivering jet fuel only by using fuel cards.
The airlines, however, in their letter wrote that “it is the high season now” and the new undertaking may cause disturbances in their flights schedule.
“We are asking that the plan become operational one or two months from now when the number of flights has diminished. We also would like the plan to be piloted at one airport and then nationalized,” said Maqsud As’adi Samani, secretary of Iran Airlines Association.
