More than 2.41 million tons of oil was transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline in January 2017, as compared to 2.29 million tons transported in January 2016, said a message of the website of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR.
In January 2017, 935,330 tons of Turkmen oil was transported via the BTC, as compared to 358,530 tons in January 2016.
In total, 323.95 million tons of oil was transported via the BTC pipeline since the beginning of its operation.
In January 2017, nearly 2.05 million tons of oil was sent from the Turkish port of Ceyhan to the world markets, as compared to 2.85 million tons in January 2016. Some 1.4 million tons of the January 2017 amount accounted for the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ).
Overall, 321.88 million tons of Azerbaijani oil was sent from Ceyhan to the world markets since the start of operation of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline.
