Iran’s gas condensate export plunges

The official statistics indicate that Iran’s gas condensate exports plunged in the first month of fiscal year (March 21-April-21).

According to the Custom Administration’s monthly report, published May 3, Iran’s gas condensate revenues reached $493 million.

The report didn’t mention the volume of export, but according to Custom’s report, published in May 2016, Iran’s gas condensate export value was $545 million. Therefore, the export value decreased by 10.5 percent year-on-year.

On the other hand, the oil price in March 21-April 21 of current year was about $55, but the value for the same period of last year was about $44. The figures indicate 25 percent growth in oil price.

Therefore, there is a significant decline in Iran’s gas condensate exports volume during the first month of current fiscal year.

Iran exported 1.349 million tons of gas condensate during the first month of last fiscal year, which indicated a 56 percent growth year-on-year.

In total Iran exported $2.732 worth of non-oil goods (Iran includes gas condensate and row gases like propane, butane in non-oil exports basket), which indicates 10 percent decrease during the first month of current fiscal year, while its imports increased by 24 percent to $2.347 billion.
