Maltese Seadelta tanker loaded with 84,841 tons of Azerbaijani oil for the Kremenchug Refinery (Ukrtatnafta PJSC) finished unloading at the Odessa Port on Jan. 9, enkorr website reported quoting the press service of the Ukrainian Sea Ports Authority (USPA).

Reportedly, the tanker delivered the crude from the Georgian port of Supsa. This is the first delivery of Azerbaijani oil this year.

Ukrtatnafta, an international oil refining company, signed an agreement with Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR in late 2016 on the annual delivery of 1.3 million tons of Azerbaijani oil to the Kremenchug Refinery. About 960,000 tons of Azerbaijani oil was imported according to the agreement in 2017.

Ukrtatnafta expected that thanks to the supplies of Azerbaijani oil in 2017, the processing of crude would grow by over 41 percent, however, the processing grew by 8 percent to 2.3 million tons for the year primarily due to the decrease in the volume of imports by Ukrnafta, the Ukrainian oil and natural gas extracting company.
