Another gas well was put into operation in the Bulakbashi district of the Andijan region, Uzbek media reported.

Following the geological exploration conducted by the specialists of the JSCs "Andijanneft" and "Kukon Parmalash Ishlari" a natural gas field was located in the territory of the village of Uchtepa in the Bulakbashi district.

Chairman of the board of the JSC "Andijanneft" Mansurbek Davlatov said that four wells were drilled here. Three wells have already been commissioned and they are already producing gas. The necessary work is being carried out to commission another well.

Uzbekistan's proven reserves of natural gas is 1.1 trillion cubic meters. Total reserves are estimated at the level of 5 trillion cubic meters. But the level of production is not comparable with this potential. In 2017, it amounted to only 56.4 billion cubic meters. This year it is planned to increase output up to 66 billion cubic meters.
