The first batch of the RT jet fuel was produced at the Kazakh Atyrau refinery LLP, the press service of the company stated.

Thus, having completed the production of the TS-1 jet fuel until September 25, the refinery fully switches to new production starting from October.

To date, the RT jet fuel of the Atyrau refinery has passed certification and received the appropriate PIN code for the goods. Thus, airlines will be able to purchase this jet fuel and use it.

Production of the new type of jet fuel for both civil and military aircraft began as part of the expansion of the refinery’s light oil product line after the completion of the modernization project. Thus, the production of jet fuel will grow from 21,000 tons (before modernization) to 230,000 tons per year in 2019, that is, more than 10 times.

Atyrau refinery is one of the three leading oil refineries of Kazakhstan. It was built for two years in 1940s on the basis of equipment supplied from the United States by lend-lease, and was put into operation in September 1945.

For more than 70 years of operation, the refinery turned into a modern enterprise for the production of oil products for fuel purposes. A large-scale technical re-equipment of all processing units for oil refining was carried out in the Atyrau refinery, which allowed to increase the refinery’s capacity to 5.5 million tons per year.
