Russian company to help Uzbekistan boost output of oil fields

Russia’s Zarubezhneft together with Uzbek oil and gas company Uzbekneftegaz is implementing projects to increase hydrocarbon production at low-yield deposits in Uzbekistan, the press service of the Uzbek company said.
Zarubezhneft representatives held multiple meetings with the scientific institutes of UzLITIneftgaz, the Institute of Geology and Exploration of Oil and Gas Fields (IGIRNIGM), and also visited the Andijanneft oil field.
As a result, the Russian company made a statement that it could implement a project to increase oil production in the long-developed fields of the Fergana region.
Representatives of the Russian company also noted that they are interested in further implementation of the project and in transition to the next stage, with more concrete actions to prepare for signing an agreement.
The parties discussed various forms of interaction, such as possibility of creating a joint venture, creating an operator and signing a service contract. It was decided to hold further discussions with the corresponding specialists of the parties during the next visit of the Russian company.
