By Huseyn Hasanov – Trend:

The opening ceremony of a plant for the production of gasoline from natural gas in the Ahal region of Turkmenistan is scheduled to take place on June 28, Trend reports with reference to the Altyn Asyr TV channel.

“Here, for the first time in world practice, the production of synthetic car fuel from natural gas will be carried out on an industrial scale,” the report said.

The plant will annually produce 600,000 tons of gasoline corresponding to Euro 5 standard, as well as 12,000 tons of refined diesel fuel and 115,000 tons of liquefied gas.

The plant has been built since 2016 by the Japanese Kawasaki in consortium with the Turkish Ronesans Holding in the Owadandepe settlement of Turkmenistan.

The total cost of the project is $1.7 billion, and has been carried out at the expense of investments by the Japanese side and the funds of the Turkmengaz state concern.
